I've found a bar, Good Spirits. All well and good. Grateful to see this place has that at least.

What I'm curious is-- What other forms of entertainment are there? What do you do all do here for fun?

[Never mind that he has a very specific idea of "fun." He won't be mentioning that just yet.]

[Action

Both as he writes and a good while after, Anthony Blunt sits at the bar of Good Spirits, nursing a stronger-than-standard Scotch and soda.]

[Mac never writes responses - the process is too slow, and his spelling isn't the best.]

Hey! Miss Ginia tol' me that they got a tv an' some flicks at the Rec Center. I still gotta go check that place out 'cause I wanna see if they got some Rocky.

["Television" he has some connection with, as the things have begun to crop up in his time, but "TV" does not translate automatically, nor does "flick."

So, instead, he'll pick the one thing he can properly ask about.]

Rocky?

Y'know... the Rocky movies... [After a brief moment of expectant silence, he adds:] Rocky Balboa, the boxer?

I'm afraid I've never heard of him, Mac. I'm sorry.

[His tone holds pure incredulity.] Really? Never? ...Wow.

[Just lets that sink in for a second.]

Rocky's a real great movie character. Growin' up, I thought he was so cool... an' I still do. He's kind a' been like an idol t'me.

[He looks encouraged.] That first time I watched the first Rocky - [Snaps his fingers.] - I was hooked, jus' like that. It... uh... it really speaks t'me, y'know? It was more than jus' the boxin' - it's about a guy in Philly stuck in a dead-end in life tryin' t'make ends meet... he don' like bein' the guy t'collect money for one a' them loan sharks, but y'know, y'gotta do what y'gotta do t'have enough t'eat an' live. He was tol' t'break a guy's thumb for not payin' up, but he don't do it... he can't. Though he dresses an' looks all tough, Rocky's jus' that kind a' guy. Then he gets his lucky shot when Apollo Creed - he's the champ - decides t'give a local nobody a shot at fightin' him. An' Rocky goes the distance, y'know? He proves himself t'the world an' gets the respect he worked so hard for. An' ... it's nice. He, uh, he an' Adrian... it's nice. [He blushes a little.] They was made for each other. It all comes t'gether.

There was three films after that... an' they all got their own kind a' magic.

[Rocky V and Rocky Balboa, alas, were not released in his time.]
